 Merck Sharp & Dohme

We have worked for this company since 1997 in several areas including hair loss prevention for gay men and anti-HIV initiatives in the gay market. In 1999 we developed and launched an audio CD for the company that provided gay men with information regarding nutrition and keeping healthy when living with HIV.

There has been a great deal of work we have undertaken for Merck over a number of years including advertising copywriting, development and delivery, liaison with gay media, public relations, product launches, sales promotion and online marketing strategies.

The company continues to rely on our services to ensure that it achieves the best possible results in the gay market.

 Lufthansa

We launched the brand with a gay-male targeted travel concept for this German airline (“Gay Summer”) which was followed by multiple further campaigns directed to the broader LGBT+ travel market.

Our work involved concept development, image selection, advertising copywriting, design and delivery for client, media liaison with key gay media titles, and developing online websites for both promotions to stimulate sales. We liaised with leading gay venues in Berlin, Cologne, New York and San Francisco for the ‘Gay Summer’ promotion in 2002, as well as five of the UK’s leading gay publications.

Work included in-venue promotional activities with Out Now working to promote the Lufthansa brand into key gay nightlife venues in the UK – in London, Edinburgh and Manchester. We secured the support of the managers of these venues, then designed advertising and distributed in-venue promotional materials (posters and T-shirts).

We secured dedicated LGBT media partners to maximise coverage of the initiative in gay press. We developed and managed a prize giveaway and included an online website promotion and sales tool for the promotion.

The campaigns have generated strong sales growth for the airline in a new market, improving both the brand’s positioning, and sales, amongst targeted high-yield customers.

We worked with the airline to build a direct marketing channel for future campaigns.
