pink pillow - New Network of Hotels in Berlin
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
World premiere: Berlin's new pink pillow Hotel
Collection showcase upcoming Germany artist Mathias Vef at
pop-up art events in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
London - UK - 31 October
Berlin is all about openness, tolerance and creativity - what's
more, it's one of the best places to be a gay or lesbian in
Europe.
The world-class gay scene in the city really does have something
to offer everyone - no matter what they are looking for. But of
course that's not all that Berlin has to offer LGBT
travellers.
Amazing history and culture, a vibrant art scene, great
restaurants, shopping and museums, a relaxed way of life, in a city
where everyone is not only free - but actively encouraged to be
exactly who they want to be.
There are also some excellent hotels too, like those of the new
pink pillow Berlin Collection, hotels to fit every
taste, and budget, but with one thing in common - they are
especially welcoming for gay and lesbian guests.
What's more these hotels, along with visitBerlin are so sure that
you'll just love what Berlin has to offer that they are bringing a
little slice of what Berlin has to offer to London.
visitBerlin uses selected marketing activities to advertise the
collection of hotels. As such, the pink pillow initiative was
present at the 2013 Berlin CSD parade this weekend as well as at
the New York Gay Pride event which too place on the last weekend of
June. The hotels from the collection were also be involved in the
Life Run for the Berlin AIDS task force. A road show through the
Scandinavian cities of Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm took place
earlier this year. To follow up, a delegation from each of these
cities has been invited to Berlin in October. Another road show is
also planned for December 2013, this time visiting England.
For three nights during December the pink pillow Berlin
Collection, visitBerlin, and airline Germanwings will be
hosting an invitation-only Berlin Nachtfest - a night of art,
music, food and drink to showcase the very best the city has to
offer.
We will be showcasing the pink pillow Berlin Collection.
This new initiative from visitBerlin and the Berlin hotel
industry invites hotels to come out as especially welcoming to
gay and lesbian visitors to Germany's capital.
One of our lucky invited guests at each event will also be winning
a trip for two staying for two nights in one of the
fabulous pink pillow Berlin Collection hotels with
flights to the city from Germanwings. London, Birmingham and
Manchester are just three of over 100 destinations on the
Germanwings network - one of the leading low-cost-airlines in
Europe.
As well as gourmet catering for the evening guests will also meet
one of Berlin's fast-rising visual artists - Mathias Vef. A
graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, Vef now works from
the groundbreaking studio Schwarzrosagold, right in in the
heart of Berlin's contemporary arts scene at Berlin-Mitte.
"Berlin has a great influence on my work, as the city has always
been a Utopia," Vef says. "People and artists come to Berlin
to experiment with new lives and styles. Berlin is a powerful
mix of excess and transgression, it's the creative source for
my work and I play with the surprise one gets when discovering
all these facets."
For those not fortunate enough to attend the events, pink pillow
Berlin Collection and GermanyWings are offering two lucky people
the chance to win a weekend in Berlin for themselves.
Entrants can choose to fly from either London, Birmingham or
Manchester to Berlin - just one of 100 destinations on the
GermanyWings network.
